Find Your Place In the Sun May 9, 2014
Nice spot in the sun
To sit a while, take a nap
We can learn from cats.
Art Prescription: So I’m still working with “Blackie,” a stray cat. My neighbor feeds him, and I’m trying to build his trust. To start he wouldn’t let me get within 20 feet of him, and he would run. Today I sat about 3 feet away cooing to him. He did show me his belly while sitting in the sun, a sign of comfort.
Clematis May 8, 2014
Climbing Clematis
Weaves fragile tendrils around
Sending blooms to top!
Art Prescription: There is something mesmerizing about vines. How they know to wrap and weave their way to get to where they are going. Wish my path was so clear…
New Horses May 7, 2014
Two new mares arrive
The herd greets them politely
Boys settle some turf!!
Art Prescription: Fascinating day at the farm. Two new mares are coming to visit Blue Skies of Mapleview. So some mixing up of the paddocks was involved. The home-horses were all a bit like, what? new? where is she going? And the two new mares were like, this place has exquisite hay, and we like all the attention, which we will ignore because, well we are new. The boys suffered a bit…Girl Power!!!

Pet Love May 1, 2014
Bare feet slinky fur
Cat swirls around my ankles
Claims territory.
Art Prescription: I’m pet sitting. So I go over to visit with my coffee, and much to my own cat’s chagrin, I come home smelling of “mine.” My neighbor’s cat, who is cute as pie, is more interested in marking her ownership than eating. Interesting what one will do for love and acceptance.
