Sheen like dark jewels

Wings catch March morning sun-shine

Black crow by the pond.

Art Prescription: Nothing sweeter than spring walks and painting with studio door wide-open!

Zebra safari

Inspiration for fashion

Leopards, giraffes too.

Art Prescription: Looks like animal prints are coming back around. Good! Hopefully it will remind all the fashionistas of our planet and the need to take good care. Peace!

Spring Scout March 8, 2014

On the scout for spring

She takes flight over meadow

Snow melts, rivers swell.

Art Prescription: Hang tight readers…I’m on a hunt for some original fairies. Lots of sketches and it’s harder than I thought. Being original is extremely difficult in a world where everything has been done hundreds of times, especially now with the internet. This is where the joy of our own imagination comes into play, and so play I will!!

p.s. You might recognize two recycled paintings here…

Warm studio waits

For fairies who pack their bags

To reign the woodlands.

Art Prescription: Working on some woodland fairies. Hard to decide if I want to go realistic or animated or somewhere in the middle. Love the idea of spring wildflowers with pretty, dainty fairies!!

Sleet bounces off coat

Leaves shiver, abrasive wind

Early spring betrayed.

Art Prescription: Sleeting again in NC…on March 6th! Wildflowers are trying to bloom!

Sunlight warms the stall

Sweet oats, leather and hay

Fill contented nose.

Art Prescription: Pinto gets a snack after a cold morning ride. He was such a good boy today. Everything about being on this farm with fresh air and horses feeds my senses.
