Farmer’s market fresh

Produce, grown locally is

Worthy of a feast.

Art Prescription: During a cold, cloudy, misty day, dreaming of a farmer’s market scene rich with fresh produce of all colors of the rainbow is delectable. Even though the day is gray you still have your imagination!! Draw it, paint it!

Thirty-six degrees

Cedar waxwings and robins

Flock from tree to tree.

Art Prescription: Watching the path of birds flying in unison is one of natures phenomenons. “Such movements are a prime example of emergent behavior: the behavior is not a property of any individual bird, but rather emerges as a property of the group itself. There is no leader, no overall control; instead the flock’s movements are determined by the moment-by-moment decisions of individual birds, following simple rules in response to interactions with their neighbors in the flock.”

Lemon verbena

Bergamot mint essential

Oil, poppy seed soap!

Art Prescription: Never under-estimate the power of soap to wash the day away!

Twenty-nine degrees

At sunrise, time to catch the

Crowded bus to work.

Art Prescription: Even in the chill of a winter morning I relish the calls of the crows in tree tops. Take a moment to notice everything…

Tail wagging hello

Exuberant to see you

Vicarious dogs.

Art Prescription: Take in the warm friendships of the dogs you run in to on your walks!!

Ivy clings while pine

Trees sway back and forth with wind

Final leaves float down.

Colors in my head

Paint, drip, spatter, spread, fling, blow,

Until you see art.

Art Prescription: Start a painting with chaos. Love it as is or develop it further.

Delicate yellow

Rise from frozen earth to meet

Pale winter sun rays.

Art Prescription: Take a walk and search for winter blooming flowers. I found narcissus, dandelion, and lenten rose.

Paper thin beech leaves

Rattle as the cold wind moves

Robins chirp nightfall.

Art Prescription: Listen to the wind…what do you hear?
