In neighbor’s gatden
A stand of Dutch Irises
And I sit and sketch.
Art Prescription: Sitting on a stool in my neighbor’s yard is not such an odd thing. They know me.
I enjoyed sketching these Dutch Irises with a pen and then added watercolor.

Down by the creek bed
Green fiddlehead fronds unfurl
Tall and leafy ferns
Art Prescription: How are you all doing?
Today I gathered a few fern leaves to try another technique. This one starts by wetting the page and laying Watercolor down. Then you lay leaves down on top.
I’ll see how this turns out tomorrow.

He digs, looks both ways
Runs like crazy with the goods
Fresh insects and worms.
Art Prescription: Everywhere you look nature is working hard to bring in a new generation.
On my evening walk I was watching a very busy brown thrasher. He was back and forth between hunting and bringing food to the nest.
I worked on making journals from my leaf printing pages.

Hiya friends,
I seem to be in the middle of a tech challenge. All good as I’m trying new things.
In the meantime…enjoy these Peonies!

Hi y’all,
Today I’ve attempted to video my process for making watercolor leaf prints.

Stealing kisses from my sweet boy Finn!! What a gentle soul this being is.
Animal medicine.
What would it be like
If you could flap your wings, fly
Soar over the earth.
Art Prescription: Watching birds, I always wonder what it would be like to fly. Just lift off a branch and soar.
This morning I used some leaves and plastic wrap to create a pattern.

I also used some acrylic paint to imprint leaves.

Time unfolds for each
Days spent with abnormal time
A chance for the new.
Art Prescription: I think everyone is going to find some new normals from this pandemic.
The earth is sighing a bit of relief as we put less taxing on her. This is good right?
Slowing down may have many benefits.
I’m enjoying embroidery and have listed my first one on Etsy.

Started day with a birding outing to Bynum Bridge.
Home to prepare dough for calzone:

Cooked eggplant, onions, and red pepper on grill. Rolled up to rise.
