Full…a red ball jar
Perfect white hydrangeas
Simple, elegant.
Art Prescription: A watercolor sketch on watercolor paper…

June blooms, Queen Ann’s Lace
A short season of spotlight
And then go to seed.
Art Prescription: I find many metaphors in the garden. We are each here to bloom and shine as best as we know how. So, what are you waiting for?!!!
Index card with acrylic and watercolor:

A deer clears the fence
Horses lift their heads from grass
Blackberries galore.
Art Prescription: Went out to see Finn this afternoon. So serene in the pasture. A single deer comes bolting out of no where and jumps over the fence. Stellar athelete! Meanwhile there are ripening blackberries all along the woods.
Index card with watercolor and colored pencil:

A Strawberry Moon
Rises on Summer Solstice
Longest day of year.

Infinite design
The ultimate architect
Snowflake and flower.
Art Prescription: Seems the same perfect designs show up in all of nature’s creations. My wonderful neighbors brought me a bouquet of Bachelor’s Button. I did this study of a single flower.
Index card with pen and ink and colored pencil, chop says “hope,” machine stitching:

Orange, red, and pink
Collaborate on summer
Color tour de force.
Art Prescription: I recently picked up a set of colored pencils from a tag sale. Yep! It’s addicting…
Index card with colored pencil and collage:

Supine on the couch
My “adventures” have caught up
Nature reassures.
Art Prescription: After such a stressful couple of weeks, I think today I caved into the exhaustion. I’m not one to be down, but the forces as of late seem to be gravity at it’s best. I did wander out into my garden late afternoon to pick some flowers…simple things bring me the most joy!
8 x 8 pen and ink sketch with watercolor

White moon, a blue sky
Thick rows of velvety corn
Rode-side Silver Queen.
Art Prescription: It seems the corn doubles in size each time I make my way out to the farm. So lush and green, full of promise. Soon we will have fresh Silver Queen corn to bring home and shuck. Delicate sweet corn.
Index card with pen and ink and watercolor:

Glad is in the heart
On their sturdy dark-green stalks
Gladiolas beam.
Art Prescription: Visited a dear friend to talk about life as we know it. Beside her porch is a lush garden of tall gladiolas. Glad to have good friends!!
