Jack Frost dropping in
For one final bid farewell

Pen and Ink with colored pencil:

Through the tall green grass
Up over the rise…there lies
The land of plenty.
Art Prescription: Absolute beauty can be found in a field of grazing horses.
Iphoto:

Fast furious swoop
A near miss, the dove chortles
Hungry red-eyed hawk.
Art Prescription: I was sitting outside when I heard a sudden ruffle of wings. A hawk swooped in after a morning dove in the trees. Lucky for the dove, the hawk went hungry. The yin and yang of nature.
Nature Collection

Scent fills up the air
Romance is happening now
Butterflies delight.
Art Prescription: Spring is sexy! Everywhere I look someone is either fighting for territory or “rights.” What looks like a scuffle is fore-play and nests are being built!
Watercolor 8 1/2 x 11

Winter can feel like
Time underwater, spring is
Coming up for air.
Art Prescription: Hard to go inside these days…I’ve got a pair of blue birds checking out the bird house right outside my studio window. How delightful if they take up residence and I can watch them raise a brood!
Watercolor on Yupo (first time on Yupo and I’m not sure what I’m doing)

Sharp beak and talons
Silent flight, emerald woods
A night-time huntress.
Art Prescription: Owl

Yellow Pine Warbler
Sings in tree tops, evasive
Suddenly appears!
Art Prescription: I’ve been trying to see a Pine Warbler for a while now with my binoculars. “Hunting” the woods, listening for their song, and scanning the tree-tops for a view. Then today there they were, a pair, right in full view. And yes they are cute as can be.
Index card with pen and ink and colored pencil:

Cold acquiesces
Begins to unfurl, let go
Of its heavy touch.
Art Prescription: One day at a time we ask for grace in the form of spring.
8 x 8 finger painting

Like our hopes and dreams
The root of all success starts
With your soul’s blossom.
Art Prescription: Being true to one’s self is an art. And it takes practice. Quiet moments tuning in to a deeper rhythm that sings your soul’s song.
Pen and ink out of my adult coloring kit.

Warm and inviting
Knowing that this is my place,
What I’ve created.
Art Prescription: Spent most of my day at the farm riding Finn. Went with found poetry for my haiku and art…a little random print from a magazine. Try it! Just open up to any page and see what words jump out at you.
