Cute June 5, 2017

Hopped the nest too soon

Quiet as a mouse until

My mom comes with worm.

Art Prescription:  We found a wee robin in our yard, not ready to fly. The nest was too high to return him, so we placed him in a basket and tied it in the tree. The parents found him quickly and resumed feeding. Yay. Then when I returned home later the basket was empty. Dang, I thought, hawk.

Heading out for my evening walk I saw the parents across the street in my neighbor’s yard. And guess what? There was the baby.

My friend who is a bird expert, said fledging does not necessarily mean they are ready to fly, but just ready to leave the vulnerable nest. The parents continue to feed and soon the baby will be hopping onto branches.

Do-Over May 31, 2017

Reincarnation

A chance to do it over

Same lessons next time.

Art Prescription:  Seems the lessons we need to learn follow us throughout life. Ain’t it grande!! Everyday an adventure!

A re-do piece of art, even cut up to find a small portion I liked! HA!

Instinct May 17, 2017

Pure instinct, the flight

The wave of wing to his mate

And the nest begins.

Art Prescription:  My chickadee batch fledged. And now a pair of blue birds are claiming the box. I adore seeing them messaging each other with subtle wing waves.

Do Over May 8, 2017

Reincarnation

Pigs became fall at the lake

Tropical palm trees.

Art Prescription:  Like life…art can be all over the place. And sometimes we need a “do over.” Today I had many of these as nothing I painted resonated with my soul.

Here is a many, many, layers final piece:

Re-worked May 6, 2017

Like the Eagle’s song

I’m pushing it to limits

With color and marks.

Art Prescription:  Thinking last nights painting was a bit dull, I went back into it with color, graphite, and colored pencil. Could be just emotion…
