Life, many layers
The lived days add, a year
To lead with your heart.
Art Prescription: How you spend your days add up to how your spend your year…

Art Prescription: How you spend your days add up to how your spend your year…
Collage and sewing on paper:

Sun casts long shadows
On the snowy white landscape
Spring, patient lover.
Art Prescription: Lovely long walk in the snowy woods today.
8 1/2 x 11 watercolor:

When the snow storm hit
Mildred and her feathered friends
Protested the cold.
Art Prescription: The cats are all warm by the fire…what about us?
Watercolor:

The click-click of sleet
No bread or milk to be found
Snow storm in the south.
Art Prescription: It was the perfect evening for art journaling!

A winter snow storm
Makes her approach, and spring buds
Greet the arrival.
Art Prescription: Even in the stark of winter, the signs of spring are there.
Watercolor and pen and ink on watercolor paper with my chop:

Electric fence clicks
Cardinals chip, in gloaming
Evening hay run.
Art Prescription: I adore the sound of horses happily chomping on hay. As the sun sets on the farm, there is much atmosphere.
Index card with watercolor and my chop that says, “hope.”

Delicate wind chimes
Play tender notes to announce
Snow in the forecast.
Art Prescription: And my back-yard birds are talking about it too. Today I didn’t even need a coat. Grey wintry weather suits my sleepy cats.
Brush painting on index card:

Winter, green bamboo
Graceful leaves nod at bare trees
Secret hiding place.
Art Prescription: Have you ever come upon a tall bamboo forest in winter? A canopy of green in the midst of naked trees. A secret hiding place. Thick and tall. Sunshine rays slip in. Smells like vetiver.
Index card with watercolor and my chop that says, “hope.”

Leaves shiver in breeze
Cool, grey, wintry, cloudy, sky
Fluffy birds huddle.
Art Prescription: I can’t think of a better way to end the year than a nature walk with my sketchbook and my love. Just us and our footsteps together for a 25th New Years Eve. Our lives are blessed and happy, and my wish for everyone is to find the simple beauty of each and every day. Oh yea, and make some art! Here’s to 2017!
Sketchbook with pen and graphite:

Creek, river, ocean
Life is running to its source
The end of the year.
Art Prescription: We all do it…the end of the year tabulation. The time between Christmas and New Years is always a time of retrospection. We add and subtract and divide and try and figure out what this new year will bring.
Put it out there, your hopes and dreams. Visualize it happening. Toast to your new year!
