Now July 27, 2016

In this moment, now

I feel peace, content, and safe

A mantra for all.

Choice July 25, 2016

The power of choice

To live without the reruns

Move forward in joy!

Art Prescription:  Every day we are offered choices on how we want to live our days…and how we live our days is how we live our lives. One day at a time I choose to move forward in joy! Wanna come?

Something Blue July 23, 2016

From red kayak bow

The lake stretches out deep blue

Big clouds float above.

Art Prescription:  Just me and my first mate went “boating” today…kayaking. It was so fun and beautiful and peaceful. Nothing but us, blue skies, and a lake that went on forever. Bliss!

Quiet Gifts July 22, 2016

Surest way to hear

The soft strains of harmony

Is in the silence.

Art Prescription:  My way to refuel from life’s demands is to go sit in a field with horses in pure silence. I listen to birds, cicadas, squirrels foraging, the horses snorting and chomping on grass. And in that big expanse, I realize how precious life is, how important it is to feed your soul. Everyone is different. For me quiet gifts fill me up, and I’m am so grateful for the simple.

Perspective July 21, 2016

Alone in the field

I feel small and listen for

Wisdom of horses.

Art Prescription:  “Take it to the horses,” she said. Take it to the horses, and take a shower, and then think about life. Thank you Deborah!

I spent a couple of hours sketching en plein air today. Ink on index cards:

Panther July 16, 2016

Hunter wanna be

Slips out the door routinely

Inside panther cat.

Art Prescription:  My two cats are content as they can be, inside lazing around. But not my third catICAD 2016 July 16 Matisse!! Matisse howls incessantly to go outside, and he slips under my feet like a bolt of lightening when I go out the door, escaping into the big outdoors. He usually stops short of the driveway and dives into the grass. It’s a dilemma! I know I love outdoors, but safety comes first. I allow him to explore sometimes with me chasing behind him as if he were a toddler.
