A blue bird of hope
Lives within the open heart
Ready to take flight.

Watercolor:

Typography page
A place for a few true thoughts
Expressive outlet.
Art Prescription: I try and keep the Art Prescription positive, but I’ve had a few disappointing happenings, so true to my Rx I’ve expressed them here in my journal.
Journal page: mixed media:

Foundation for life
We each lay down a background
And layer from there.
Art Prescription: Life is a story. Our backgrounds are important, but more important is how we layer our days, and months, and years. Author of our story…make it a good chapter!
Mixed media background:

Scent of evening
Dinner cooking, clothes drying
Spring inflorescence.
Art Prescription: There is an Asian family in my neighborhood who starves me on my evening walk. There is always something wonderful wafting from their house.
Watercolor and colored pencil:

Taupe colored clouds move
In with a cold winter front
Hang tight little blooms.
Art Prescription: All this warm weather here in North Carolina has encouraged everything to bloom early. Now tonight a front is moving back in.
I love the simple elegance of brush painting. I’ll make this one available in my Etsy shop!!
Watercolor with my chop that says “hope”

It’s before you knew
Free from guilt or blame, simple
Just a shear pleasure.
Art Prescription: Spring moves forth with such determination…
Index card with colored pencil:

A field of purple
Highlight against winter trees
Power of a few.
Art Prescription: A stand alone wildflower is minuscule, but put them in a field with others, and you have a stampede of color.
Index card with colored pencil:

He sings his heart out
Fills February air with
Sweetness and a goal.
Art Prescription: Such an early spring! The birds, bees, and buds, are doing their thing.
Note card with fabric, colored pencil, and stitching:

With a playful mind
A bag of sunflower seed
Becomes an art tote.
Art Prescription: I asked myself, “what if.” I was actually thinking about the bags that Finn’s feed comes in, I’ll try that next. But on hand was an almost empty bag of sunflower seed…so here is a little birdy art tote!! Full art copyright goes to Southern States…ooooh maybe I should show this to them!

Anxious to burst forth
Buds on trees wait their turn to
Add color to woods.
Art Prescription: One of my favorites…the Pink Dogwood.
