The Titmice protest
This great silent visitor
On the edge of field.
Art Prescription: A late afternoon hike at Mason Farm was very quiet…until the owls came out!!

Winter drive, top down
Golden hair flies in the wind
Convertible bug.
Art Prescription: Snow last week, 75 today.
Illustration with colored pencil on index card:

Steady drip drip drip
Snow melts, water runs to creek
Drop of joy travels.
Art Prescription: The snow is pretty, but kind-of glad to see grass again.
Art journal collage with watercolor and sewing:

Make, invent, arrange
In the spur of the moment
Improvisation.
Art Prescription: I though, “I’ll just make a little stuffed bunny.” More than an hour later, I was tangled in thread and cut fabric. My little bunny is pretty home-made and a little loose around his edges, and I enjoyed playing.
Improvisational sewing:

Life, many layers
The lived days add, a year
To lead with your heart.
Art Prescription: How you spend your days add up to how your spend your year…
Collage and sewing on paper:

Dream time while I sleep
Backed out of drive, spun and slid
Comforter calls me.
Art Prescription: Had my swim-suit on ready to go! Thawed my van…backed out…and went absolutely nowhere! Plan B: walked and bird-watched…lovely.
And painted:

Sun casts long shadows
On the snowy white landscape
Spring, patient lover.
Art Prescription: Lovely long walk in the snowy woods today.
8 1/2 x 11 watercolor:

When the snow storm hit
Mildred and her feathered friends
Protested the cold.
Art Prescription: The cats are all warm by the fire…what about us?
Watercolor:

The click-click of sleet
No bread or milk to be found
Snow storm in the south.
Art Prescription: It was the perfect evening for art journaling!

A winter snow storm
Makes her approach, and spring buds
Greet the arrival.
Art Prescription: Even in the stark of winter, the signs of spring are there.
Watercolor and pen and ink on watercolor paper with my chop:
