Index card with watercolor and pen and ink:

Daily thunderstorms
Thirsty trees, hues of rich green
The woods are dark, deep.
Art Prescription: With all this rain, NC is looking like a rain-forest. So many shades of luxurious green!
Index card with watercolor:

Through brush and bramble
Along ten feet tall corn stalks
My solid, brave steed.
Art Prescription: I love the way the summer hot sun makes everything so bright.
8 x 8 watercolor

Just off the trailer
He takes a breath, and decides
The grass is green here.
Art Prescription: A new horse arrived at the farm today…Space…a registered Paint. Cool as a cucumber, he gets off the trailer and proceeds to enter his new home with enthusiasm. Just amazing these creatures who live totally in the moment.
Index card sketch:

Beloved foot stool
For reaching up, cabinets
So…decorated.
Art Prescription: The prompt for my daily index card is “folk art.” Lines up with paint a bird day in a quite old fashion way!!

Two trees grew and grew
And started a forest where
Sweet animals live.
Art Prescription: Nature is very busy this time of year multiplying.
Index card with collage and sewing:

The box…quiet now
Nature walks to her own drum
Empty nest syndrome.
Art Prescription: I’ve so enjoyed watching my little nest box beside my studio active with life.
Index card:

Young innocent minds
Full of imagination
And without censor.
Art Prescription: Watching children do art is magical. They face the blank page without fear, applying color at random as their little soul’s desire. So different too…each and every one of them.
Index card with watercolor and colored pencil:

Independence Day
Red, white, and blue flare, fireworks
Owls watch, curious.
Art Prescription: Me too?

I lean on your strong
Full of feed and hay, sleepy
All I hear is doves.
Art Prescription: After all the horses have full bellies, they stand about in a sleepy stupor. I sat with Finn and admired him. So quiet, except for the doves…existential moment.
