Chickadees protest
The warm early setting sun
As the chill sinks in.
Watercolor and colored pencil:

Clear skies, hawks, blue birds
Early morning crisp, cold, air
I feed the horses.
Art Prescription: After a busy Open Studio, it was so peaceful to go out on a cold winter morning and be with the horses.

Open studio
And that’s a wrap for this year
Now back to my paint!!
Art Prescription: And thank you to all the artists who joined me today to share their creative efforts with our friends and neighbors. Although we enjoy showing our goods to the public, truth be known, most of us are happiest when we are in our studios in creation mode!!
Thank you for the flowers Farley!
Index card with watercolor:

A turn into woods
Four sure-footed trail horses
The here and the now.
Art Prescription: I’m a little behind due to preparing for my Open Studio this Saturday!!
And a trail ride was sublime.
Watercolor with pen and ink:

Warm and cozy eve
Care for a special kitty
Sketch with Matilda.
Art Prescription: Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while know Matilda, the cat I helped rescue from 9 degree winter nights. She then found her forever home with my neighbors, and lucky me I pet sit her often as they are world travelers! I love her like one of my own, and when her parents are gone I sketch and read at her house.

Moonlight sonata
Can you hear the beautiful
As the day settles?
Art Prescription: Emotional week here in America. To soothe my soul I return to nature and her rhythms.
8 x 8 watercolor with bleach:

Nature’s color wheel
Orange leaves against blue sky
Complimentary!
Index card with watercolor:

We must move forward
Across the fields of unknown
In search of better.
Art Prescription:
“Go on with a spirit that fears nothing”
Homer
Index card watercolor sketch:

And still there are things
We hold precious with dear thought
O the heart’s wisdom.
Art Prescription: Live close to home and true to your heart…
Index card watercolor sketch:

Paper patient gown
I disrobe for a napkin?
You in your white coat.
Art Prescription: I know it’s election day…hard to top that, but I’ve been taking my clothes off all over town, lol! Don’t worry, just my wellness visits. I never noticed all that much before how cold and uncomfortable paper patient gowns were until I recently saw a new physician who uses the real thing. Soft gown and a real blanket, how comforting. When you already feel exposed and vulnerable, it’s amazing how small things matter. Kept my socks on!!!
