Do-Over May 31, 2017

Reincarnation

A chance to do it over

Same lessons next time.

Art Prescription:  Seems the lessons we need to learn follow us throughout life. Ain’t it grande!! Everyday an adventure!

A re-do piece of art, even cut up to find a small portion I liked! HA!

Personality May 30, 2017

In field of plenty

Grateful for the chance to bloom

Flowers beam with pride.

Art Prescription:  As always when I have a chance to share watercolor, personalities blossom. It’s a bit of a hard task I ask…to let go…let the paint do the work…stay in the now. I so enjoy where each individual takes this.

Here is my first wash:

And here are the flowers that bloomed:

River Walk May 29, 2017

The river rushed by

Gurgling with white water

Around the dark rocks.

Art Prescription:  Today we took a drive to a small town near home called Bynum. It’s a historic mill town beside the Haw River. We walked along the old Bynum Bridge which is now just for walking and admired some songbirds. Then we hiked along the river listening to the water.

Extra Paint May 22, 2017

Turquoise, white, and red

Sat unused on the palette

A zinnia born.

Art Prescription:  I finished two trees for UNC Hospitals today. Bittersweet…this work I do…honored. I had left over paint. So I headed to my studio, (I paint in my garage for these big pieces), and some zinnias bloomed.

Trail Ride May 21, 2017

All along the ground

Wildflowers mingled with grass

Sway in the saddle.

Art Prescription:  Took a long trail ride today! Perfect weather and the scent of honeysuckle filled the air. Along the ground I saw purple-spring vetch, clover, and purple nettle.

Wet in wet watercolor:

Instinct May 17, 2017

Pure instinct, the flight

The wave of wing to his mate

And the nest begins.

Art Prescription:  My chickadee batch fledged. And now a pair of blue birds are claiming the box. I adore seeing them messaging each other with subtle wing waves.
