Steam rises from cup

My morning is slow, leisure

French toast with my mate.

Art Prescription:  Isn’t it lovely to have a slow morning? No rushing or appointments, running out the door with yogurt in hand. Time to sit with a cat or two in my lap, and watch the birds.

Little bit nippy, but I did head out to my studio to paint…

Spring Runway March 18, 2016

Dapper daffodil

Sparks yellow in the garden

Sets spiffy spring style.

Art Prescription:  Well we do need a few trend setters. Soft, gentle, dapper beings who will lead us wisely into spring, and set the tone of peace and collaboration for the good of all.

New Cows March 14, 2016

New cows on the block

I stop road-side to admire

Big and round soft eyes.

Art Prescription:  For those of you who have followed my blog, you will remember Lil’ Bull. Well these two new cows are an addition to the farm.

These are works in progress. Tomorrow I will decide what to do for a background.

Evening at the Bog March 13, 2016

Blue heron saunters

A pair of hawks circle above

Barred owls begin their calls.

Art Prescription:  At dusk the bog begins to wake up. Time to start looking down a bit, instead of just up at the trees. First snake. A small adorable fella.

Trout Lily March 12, 2016

A bank of yellow

Dainty Trout Lily curtsies

Wildflower prelude.

Art Prescription:  We went to Sandy Creek Park to bird watch. The explosion of Trout Lily wildflowers along the bank of the water was breath-taking. This is one of the first ephemeral wildflowers to announce spring’s arrival.
