A new magazine
The air conditioner churns
Cool air sweeps my cheeks.
Art Prescription: What a luxury! To pause in the middle of the day to rest and peruse my newest Stampington magazine. Inspiration page to page. And my garden abloom.
An artist’s tool box
Brushes, palette knives, scissors
A finger painting!
Art Prescription: Art Prescription group today in my studio. Our project was to start a painting, and then paint over it, and over it again. The process of letting go what was there before. And then finally to cut that painting up into pieces and see what emerges…stories, tales.
After morning ride
She gets a spray, cool water
Returns to the hay.
Art Prescription: Rode Miss Lacey this morning. Went early to beat the heat. I love spraying her down with cool water, washing the saddle-marked sweat from her white body. She enjoys it too! I return her to the paddock where fresh hay awaits. A grazing horse…Zen.
A steep learning curve
Teach an old dog new brand new tricks
Ghost in the machine.
Art Prescription: I spent 3 hours today at the Apple store for a class. Then my computer misbehaved and I ended up needing the “Genius Bar.” Sensory overload!!!. I’m pooped. And don’t have any new art today, because I sired my time out to technology. Sad…really.
Diamonds and pearls
Everyday glamorous
Audrey Hepburn chic.
Art Prescription: As I sit here all moist with perspiration (aka sweat), in my summer shorts and tees, I wonder did these glamour queens always look this fresh? Did they wear diamonds and pearls to the movies and eat buttered popcorn with their bare hands? Surely they held their pinky finger just so while sipping tea. I’ll be right back….I’m boiling some fresh corn on the cob!!
