Deep Woods April 27, 2014

Smell of vetiver

Rich, earthy bog, sweet wetlands

Guppies, frogs, and snakes!

Art Prescription:  Snakes! Yikes, but some people love seeing them. They are nature’s creations too. As we head into warmer weather, the bog awakens, and the water is teaming with life. Remember when you looked at bog water under a microscope? Spirogyra…Be curious.

Tai Chi April 25, 2014

Busy hospital

Lady in pink does Tai Chi

People linger, gaze.

Art Prescription:  It seems hospitals have become like malls. Busy, people everywhere, employees, patients, and families going for lunch. The lady in pink doing Tai Chi caught my eye. I stopped and watched her graceful movements.  Watercolor pencil sketchbook…

Horse Trail Ride April 23, 2014

Through long green grass fields

Into the woods, by cows, geese,

Trail ride perfection!

Art Prescription:  Spring experienced on the back of a horse is bliss. Look down and see wildflowers at their feet. Watch their ears and eyes as they take it all in. You are on their back and they carry you with each step, mutual trust!

Hand-sewn Quilt April 19, 2014

Grandma’s hand-sewn quilt

Cold and rainy April day

Three cats, one hubby.

Art Prescription:  Today was a day for cuddling. I’m blessed to have many hand-made quilts. Both sets of grandparents were quilters, so after a busy week the Dyer family all piled into bed under one and took a nap…bliss! Watercolor sketch on a 3 x 5 index card.
