Art Journal

Back to home sweet home

Bright orange and yellow drive

And a perfect sky.

Art Prescription: Home sweet home. Fun weekend at the Old Cotton Gin!

Unpacked right into my studio for my Open Studio December 7th!

Hope to make a few more of these hand-bound art journals.

The Old Cotton Gin

The Old Cotton Gin

Small town, Warrenton, NC

Antiques, history.

Art Prescription: What a fun day in Warrenton at the Old Cotton Gin. Thanks to all who came out despite cold and rain. Shout out to Karen from Holly Springs!

There was a lot to see! And then I won the raffle! Oh my gosh! A bit from each vendor. I shared my stash with others.

My paintings found new homes, and always a favorite, note cards.

Will and Spirit

The will to live on

The spirit that guides our days

Really, that’s enough.

Art Prescription: I’m just finishing the final coat on this Remembering Tree for the North Carolina Burn Center.

This patient touched the hearts of many who cared for him.

Shift Work

Stethoscope, pitch-fork

Sterile, to horsey mud, hay

Two shifts in one day!

Art Prescription: Awake before the sun, I started my day at my nursing job.

Home to rest a minute I headed out to the farm to assist with horse lessons.

What a full day! So dark now for after-school lessons. Finn was a super good boy! Proud mama.

Windy

Cold wind spreads fall leaves

Some airborne twirl in the sky

And land on wet earth

Art Prescription: My studio is particularly cozy this time of year. Bright lights, heat, and joyful clutter.

I’m playing with some mini-collages on canvas with drawn or painted eggs and feathers.

Sam and I are headed to The Old Cotton Gin for an art show next weekend!
