Off the trailer calm
Armani comes to new home
Oh what a beauty!
Art Prescription: A new horse arrived at the farm today! Armani! He is quite a big boy, Freesian, and super sweet.

Reptiles on the move
Black snake surfs a-top bushes
Turtle meanders.
Art Prescription: Always on the look-out for nature inspiration, we hiked Pumpkin Loop this afternoon.
Along with a nice assortment of birds we saw a beautiful black racer, a turtle (probably snapper), and a question mark butterfly.
What shall I draw?

Heady floral scents
Big rain drops roll down my cheek
To wash away tears.
Art Prescription: Sad day. My neighbor’s dog Daisy went over the rainbow.
It’s so hard to lose a beloved pet.
Love will get us through hard times…

Real impermanence
The time to soak in living
Daily wonder, joy.
Art Prescription: My daily walk took me over to explore the Debose House, a Chapel Hill landmark. The house is amazing and a bell-man showed us a room!
The gardens appeal to me the most with a formal garden for the heirs.
And then a simple graveyard in the woods.
Either way a life was lived…

In Creeping Charlie
Bees land, fly, collect pollen
Search for Bumble Bees.
Art Prescription: Most of you are aware that our bees are endangered…
Today, thanks to my group of young environmentalists I learned a lot about bees!
We caught bees and studied them, and of course released.
Field sketch

The magic of spring
Sprouts round every corner
Wood Thrush play the flute.
Art Prescription: Drinking coffee on my back deck at 6 a.m., yep not usual, I heard the most melodic song ever followed by a buzzing noise.
A Wood Thrush!!

Each petal and bloom
A prayer of hope, healing
Blessings be to all.
Art Prescription: Sending prayers to the universe….cause what the world needs now.
Garden mandala:

Pasture at sunset
Horses are backlit, golden
Honeysuckle scent.
Art Prescription: Releasing the Horses out into the pasture I feel the buttercups under my feet, smell the fresh honeysuckle, and hear the satisfied sound of horses exhaling.

Parents forage, scratch
Find a bit fat juicy grub
Trembling fledglings squeal.
Art Prescription: On my evening walk I came upon a family of Carolina Wrens. The fledglings were noisy and demanding.
The parents patiently brought them morsels and were teaching them to hunt on their own.
If the parent didn’t deliver some food, the youngster would hop to the ground in search of provisions.
Watercolor and pen:

Howdy!
I’m still exploring free stitch embroidery.
My blue bird is done and I’ve done an accompany feather!
