Art Prescription: wet watercolor:

Cool morning, jacket
Sun warms the land, shed layers
Pairs of birds build nests.
Art Prescription: Spring reminds us we reap what we sow. Are we watering the weeds or the flowers? Watching the natural world, I’m convinced that positive thinking and living in the moment are keys to happiness.
Art journal, mixed media:

Rue-anemone
A woodland perennial
White blossoms, brown stems.
Art Prescription: Nature walk at Mason Farm. Warblers are coming in to nest, and spring wildflowers are abundant.
I watch a pair of mockingbirds doing their mating dance…such a show.
Art journal:

Farrier day at the farm. Finn was in cue to get his pedicure, but got delayed because Space needed shoes. I put Finn in a stall. A stall with fresh hay!!
Here he is with a full belly and hay in his mane looking quite satisfied.

March comes in, lion
A final snow, wind, and rain
Sneaks out like a lamb.
Art Prescription: finally put my winter coat up? March is a moody month. She’s unpredictable and passionate! But eventually she gives way to spring, yes March has a soft side.
Art journal with acrylic spread, stencil, and collage.

Strokes of pure color
Right from the tube, acrylic
Palette knife painting.
Art Prescription: This painting on canvas has taken hours. Each stroke of paint done with a palette knife. I wanted to keep the colors pure, yet build an abstract illusion of flowers. I think she is ready to sign.
24 x 48 canvas with acrylic:

In the shade garden
Deep blue-green fern fronds unfurl
Fiddleheads spiral.
Art Prescription: Along with the wildflowers come new fern growth, so lush after winter browns.
Watercolor pencil sketch:

Fastidious cat
Washes her face after food
Prepares for a nap.
Art Prescription: We can learn a lot from our feline companions.
Watercolor sketch:

Along country roads
Redbuds pop with magenta
Spring’s fashion walkway.
Art Prescription I started this painting with blowing color. This creates an abstract forest.

Then I spattered pinks and reds… my chop says “hope.”
Try it!!

Turn to face inside
Mystery of being here
Keep presence aflame.
Art Prescription: here I’ve borrowed from John O’Donohue’s poem “A Blessing.”
