A white blank canvas
Time to invite the muse in
Pick up her brush, paint.

A bird convention
They fly in from all over
To discuss weather.
Art Prescription: Fed horses in pouring rain. Peaceful. Just me, horses, birds, and rain.
Art Journal with mixed media:

Dainty wildflower
Demure, graceful, ballet-like
Reserved, honest, true.
Art Prescription: traits to live up to.
Art Journal with pen and ink, watercolor, staple collage, washi tape.

Quiet in chaos
Spring gathers her strength to bloom
Up through winter’s bed.
Art Prescription: Nature does not doubt herself, realizing there is a time for all seasons. Nature honors her cycles and rests when needed. She knows and trusts that in good time all will be well and blooms prolifically.
Art Journal with collage and watercolored index card, my chop says hope.

A mourning dove coos
Mother and her two fawns graze
Horses chomp fresh hay.
Art Prescription: A peace like no other comes to me when I’m tending animals.
Watercolor sketch:

Rows of paint, canvas
Brushes, pens, markers, papers
Art store adventure.
Art Prescription: shopping for projects I found the cutest frames ever!!
Little Wren: I’m going to list in my Etsy shop!! So cute!!!

Violet in room
Full of big, bright, loud, bloomers
Shrinks into her shell.
Art Prescription: I have so many wonderful friends, and love spending time with them. But put me in a noisy restaurant with loud music, and suddenly I feel like a turtle wanting to withdraw into its shell. I sit looking around the table at my friends squirming in my seat, the loudness erasing all chances of real conversation. I cannot wait to get outside. To listen to the grass grow. Leaves me wondering why I’m so different?
Index card with colored pencil and ink, my chop that says “hope”

Bamboo bent from snow
Hangs low over walking path
Creeks rise and trickle.
Art Prescription: And the ground is very squishy, especially at the farm where horses have been tromping around. Beautiful day in the sixties.
Watercolor over another painting. Can you guess which one? Recycling…

That sort of courage
I have seen enough of life
Sacred mystery.
Art Prescription: Mixed-media fun and found poetry. First layer acrylic, next stencils with spray paint, last colored pencils and a watercolor wash.
Not made to be a piece of art! Made to be a process of art. #artprescription
It’s all about the doing.

Thick wool winter socks
Layers of clothes, scarf, mittens
Knitted toboggan.
Art Prescription: Loving long winter hikes. Life is full. Spring will come.
