Neighborhood lights up
Winter wonderland for all
Celebrate season.
Art Prescription: Come together and celebrate our sameness versus our difference…we earthly beings. Peace on earth.

Silvery cold frost
Gleams on grass, leaves, and branches
Sun revives pansies.
Art Prescription: How did pansies get their name? They are one of the only flowers that will hold up to winter’s chill and keep blooming.
Watercolor:

Winter silhouette
Cold sinks her teeth into air
Horses grow thick coats.
Art Prescription: Finn has such a thick shiny winter coat. Reassurance of how nature takes care of itself. He will be just fine on these cold wintery nights.
Index card with ink and colored pencil:

She worships the sun
Her artistic touch, sun-set
Cows bow down in awe.
Art Prescription: Doing a little reflecting.
My Prayer for today: Please Mother Earth and Father Sky let me grow old with an open mind and heart. Let me never think television is a basis for reality. Give me the continual gift of always listening to others and never thinking my point of view is always right. Bring fresh air, sun-shine, and long walks in nature into my life daily (oh and birds please). Mostly, please gift me with a positive outlook and help me find joy in the moment!! It’s a swift journey y’all! Let’s enjoy the ride!! xo, bev

Runway lights appear
Wheels drop, quiet descent down
On the ground safe…HOME!
Art Prescription: For those of you who have been following my blog for a while you know I’m a home-body. After a good visit with my husband’s family in Alabama, nothing makes me happier than to touch down in North Carolina. I’ve been flying all my life, since I was 2, since we lived in Guam and that folks is a long flight! It however always amazes me that we get on these huge man-made machines and put our total trust in other humans to get us safely to our destinations. Thank you workers of the airline industry…Thank you for bringing me HOME!!!

Banks, fast food, churches
Small town life America
Flight three nine o nine.
Art prescription: We can never walk in someone else’s shoes. We have to love people where they are and respect their thoughts. I do know life shapes us dramatically. I also believe with all my heart that if we don’t choose love and joy over anger and sadness, we are doomed a life of dark days. Flight 3909 fly me high!!!!!
Happiness is choice
Gratitude is a workout
For your brain on joy.
Art prescription: Do you know happy people? What do they spend their time doing? Chances are they watch little television, especially the horrific news, and probably spend a lot of time doing for others.
You left us too soon
To continue on your way
Your mother’s sunshine.
Art Prescription: Dear friends I’d like to dedicate this writing to Caleb Marshall Woodlief. My best friend lost her dear son and his funeral was today. A bright light in our world, he blessed his family and friends for 22 years.
We all feel the sadness of the inexplicable, the unfair, and undeniable loss that we humans must bear. We cannot make sense of it. Some mysteries are beyond our comprehension. This is where faith, whatever faith means to you, becomes the simple affirmation of getting through one day at a time.
Caleb you were cherished by your family. I remember the day your mother called me to tell me you were on your way. The world was here waiting for your arrival.
Friends and family gathered today to bid you farewell and to send you off with love on your soul’s journey.
Dame Julian of Norwich, a thirteenth-centurey English mystic, wrote this prayer to comfort those who are dealing with enormous human emotion.
All shall be well,
And all shall be well,
And all manner of things shall be well.
In loving memory of Caleb Marshall Woodlief.

March of life slows down
You watch clouds dance in color
And walk on to rest.
Art Prescription: So many moments to celebrate every day.
