Hips slide back and forth
Big strong muscles move, rhythm
Warm silky bare back.
Art Prescription: Even though it sounds like a chapter out of a romance novel, it is horse-back riding. And it is all that…
Summer slips away
A few leaves fall here and there
Flowers turn to seed.
Art Prescription: Lovely walk with friend’s today at NC Botanical Gardens. Many of the flowers have turned to seed which means abundant food for the song-birds. Seed pods are so intricate and a challenge to draw. Here are my cone-flowers and cosmos going to seed. Pen and ink in journal.
A field of milk weed
Bright orange Monarchs swirl dance
Long flight, Mexico.
Art Prescription: Often when we think we are seeing Monarchs, it is their look-a-like Viceroys. Monarchs are on the decline due to human impact. It warms my heart and soul to find this natural field of milk weed on a hike at Merritt’s Pasture here in Chapel Hill, NC. Thank you to them for holding space for these beautiful creatures to carry on.
Hello Art Prescription friends,
I’m a big fan of Stampington and their latest magazine is called Bella Grace. They are sponsoring a blog hop and thought you artists might enjoy.
We’re so excited about the release of Bella Grace that we’ve invited a number of well-known authentic living artists, writers, photographers, and bloggers to join us for a very special blog hop event that will take place all throughout the month of August. In honor of the first volume of what we know is going to become a beloved publication, we’re asking our friends to share their own Bella Grace-inspired stories, poetry, photographs, and art. Best of all, each and every one of our co-hosts will be giving away a copy of this stunning magazine, which means our lovely readers have even more chances to win their own free issue.
Walk the walk my friend
