Fall Meadow September 21, 2013

The corn fields been plowed

Tall brownish stalks bend to ground

Asters fill meadows.

Art Prescription:  Another day in the country. Went and helped paint barns at the farm where I’m riding horses. Then walked with hubby at Mason Farm, our favorite place. The wildflowers are plenty. Started a painting…stay tuned for tomorrow…I’ll finish!!

Black and White September 20, 2013

Black and white and gray

The world is neither, but a

Beautiful mixture!

Art Prescription:  Slept with my black ink pen last night…talk about the pea and the princess. The hazard of bedtime journaling.  Well, just suffice it to say that I totally went to the drug store to buy “White Rain” hairspray. Let’s hope that works to get the ink out of the sheets. In the meantime thought some black and white art just seemed right!

Hearts a bursting September 15, 2013

Pink sneakers, white hat

Walk my path as sun settles

My Hearts-a-bustin.

Art Prescription:  Euonymus americanus – Bursting Heart, Hearts-a-bustin’, Strawberry Bush.. E. americanus is a shrub with thin stems and opposing, shallowly serrated leaves. The bush grows from 4 to 6 feet tall. Fruit is a red 4-lobed capsule. Each lobe splits open in the autumn, giving the name Bursting Heart.

There are many days that we may feel our hearts are bursting, with joy, with praise, and with sorrow.

The River September 12, 2013

Just be in the flow

The river runs to the sea

Float and be, let go.

Art Prescription:  Sometimes the best thing you can do is to simply let go and float. Quit trying so hard to swim up stream! Do you even know where you are trying to get? So float, be buoyant, weightless…

Down by the lazy river
