He perches and looks

Hops to get an inside view

Spring real-estate hunt.

Art Prescription: This time of year the male blue-bird begins to hunt for the perfect nesting box. Once he finds one he likes, he will perch above it and flirtatiously call for the female. You know women are picky…If she likes it she will build a nest (typical), and he will help feed the fledgelings until they fly the coop! If you have a place for it put a blue-bird box up. Marvel at their jewel-tone cobalt blue!

Farmer’s market fresh

Produce, grown locally is

Worthy of a feast.

Art Prescription: During a cold, cloudy, misty day, dreaming of a farmer’s market scene rich with fresh produce of all colors of the rainbow is delectable. Even though the day is gray you still have your imagination!! Draw it, paint it!

Thirty-six degrees

Cedar waxwings and robins

Flock from tree to tree.

Art Prescription: Watching the path of birds flying in unison is one of natures phenomenons. “Such movements are a prime example of emergent behavior: the behavior is not a property of any individual bird, but rather emerges as a property of the group itself. There is no leader, no overall control; instead the flock’s movements are determined by the moment-by-moment decisions of individual birds, following simple rules in response to interactions with their neighbors in the flock.”
