Nature Prints

What would it be like

If you could flap your wings, fly

Soar over the earth.

Art Prescription: Watching birds, I always wonder what it would be like to fly. Just lift off a branch and soar.

This morning I used some leaves and plastic wrap to create a pattern.

I also used some acrylic paint to imprint leaves.

Here are my results which will be used to make hand-bound journals.

Pin Cushions

Time unfolds for each

Days spent with abnormal time

A chance for the new.

Art Prescription: I think everyone is going to find some new normals from this pandemic.

The earth is sighing a bit of relief as we put less taxing on her. This is good right?

Slowing down may have many benefits.

I’m enjoying embroidery and have listed my first one on Etsy.

Still Stitching

Hi friends,

How are you? I hope you are finding ways to cope with this odd world we are living in.

I’m walking and bird watching and embroidering these tiny pin cushions.

It makes me happy.

Tree canopies fill

Camouflaging bird’s new nests

Time to start brooding.

Art Prescription: On my morning walk I saw two baby squirrels peeking from their nest.

Birds are steadily building.

I continue to play with embroidery and making these pin cushions.

Photo Friday

Hi folks,

I hope this is finding you well and coping with current conditions.

I’m extremely grateful to have Finn, nature, and art to carry me from day to day.

Windy day so I did not ride. Instead Finn had a spa day.

Lots of mane and tail product!!

Spoilt!!!!

Wind

Alone in the woods

Loose branches crackle to ground

Sounds of swaying pines

Art Prescription: Made a pin cushion from a free-hand embroidery piece.

Pretty scrappy!! LOL!!

Well with our extra time it’s fun to try something new.

Sewing is a challenge!

Slowing down to stitch

Time stretches out like a thread

One at a time, breathe.

Art Prescription: Working on my improvisational embroidery. Usually don’t have the patience.

One stitch at a time…

A Little Pen and Collage

Robins dance in yard

Soon they will build their stick nest

And lay some blue eggs

Art Prescription: More time than usual to observe the birds. My backyard is a flutter with activity!

In the studio I continue to experiment with mixing media.

This started with laying in some watercolor. Then I sketched in sunflowers, more doodles, some collage, then painted around with my yellow-blue palette from mixing greens.
