Wallflower’s remains
Shoes that never danced, still-life
Mostly worn to church.
Art Prescription: Always seek to see where people come from. Life is complicated, minds are formed by so many factors.
Practicing loving kindness and acceptance.

A meditation
Wishing peace for all beings
It’s loving-kindness
Art Prescription: So especially when we find ourselves in a world of different thinking, we should offer up loving kindness.
Tiny journal:

I did the sketch first to send to client for approval. Today I mixed colors and started laying in the lights.
Because watercolor works from light to dark, versus acrylic and oils, I’m trying to preserve the highlights.
I’ve got quite a long ways to go…so satisfying to take my time!
Sketch with color swatches:

Work in progress…

A pale winter sun
Glows beneath, around, the clouds
Trying best to shine.
Art Prescription: tiny art journal

Binocs and sketchbook
Up and over hill to creek
Contemplative walk.
Art Prescription: While Sam got some great photos, I stopped and sketched with pen and ink. Once home I added color with pencils. A lovely hike!
Pen and ink:

Colored pencil:

Healthy trees spread roots
Deep into the ground, balance
And grow new spring leaves.
Art Prescription: Happy New Year!
May your 2019 bring new roots, balance, and happiness.
Art journal collage:

Long and winding road
Another trip around sun
Grateful for my life.
Art Prescription: As 2018 winds down, we have time to pause and reflect.
I sat up in the pasture with the horses and the sun warming my back and felt great peace and gratitude.
For me a simple life brings me pleasure.
I hope as you move into the new year you find peace and happiness.
Art Journal:

Winter grey hovers
Sun peeks out here and there, cold
The blue-jays complain.
Art Prescription: So after looking at all the “perfect” family photos on social media, I’m feeling a little depressed. Love my family, but honestly, it was a lot of work for a short mid-day dinner. Not relaxing at all!
I did get the perfect gift today from a dear friend, a mini-hand-made journal.
Here’s my first entry with my chop that says “hope.”

Who, who, who, softly
The Great Horned Owl called in woods
Who is listening?
Art Prescription: long lived day with a feast! And just like that Christmas Day comes to a close.
As I walked I heard the soft coo of a Great Horned Owl. How lovely!
Mixed media art journal collage with poem:
To be nobody but yourself,
in a world which is doing its best,
night and day, to make you everybody else-
means to fight the hardest battle
which any human being can fight,
never stop fighting.
