Pollinators work

To taxi pollen from one

Flower to the next.

Art Prescription:  The majority of all flowering plants rely on pollinators, a group of animals that includes over 200,000 species, including bees, birds, and buttrerflies.

Owlets June 5, 2015

Owlets peek out from

Holes in trees, big round wide eyes

They practice the hunt.

Art Prescription:  From the start it seems nature’s babies have their “ness” about them. Their owl “ness,” their horse “ness,” their dog “ness.”

Mail June 4, 2015

A lost art, writing?

Posting a card or letter

By horse-back or air.

Art Prescription: Who doesn’t love to get a hand-written note in the mail? Years from now will this be a lost art?

Late Spring May 27, 2015

Itty-bit bunny

Sits still in tall grass late spring

You cannot see me.

Art Prescription:  Seems my backyard is full of “off-spring.” To those of you who follow me…the little robin from yesterday earned his flying wings!

Waiting on a Horse May 22, 2015

We drank Prosecco

At the barn, as we waited

For the horse trailer.

Art Prescription:  A new horse arrived at the farm today. A beautiful “flea bitten” mare, which means she is white and dappled in grey. The hauler was late due to Memorial Day traffic, but this little beauty got off the trailer calm as could be. She ate grass while the geldings stood at attention in a cloud of excited dust.
