I love the process of both. One observing line and shadow, the other color.
Both are a bit abstract.

Days go by so fast
Moments seem to take a while
And what can you change?
Wandering
Just now gold and red
Begin to glow along path
Come and walk this way.
Cool and Blue
Cool breeze and blue skies
Usher in fall with a sigh
Summer so so hot.
Sharing
In times of great need
Of thirst, hunger, suffering
We can always share.
Safe?
Am I safe right now
Do I need to hide or duck?
Is this my country?
Two miles from my home a shooter killed his advisor. Many young freshmen and older faculty were called into lock down. Complete terrorism.
When will our government change the gun laws? When?
Just broken hearted again.

Cicadas buzz buzz
Bright goldfinches eat thistle
Sweat rolls down my back.
Hot and Stormy
Humid, hot, dark grey
Clouds build on the horizon
Bolt of lightening.
On these 95 plus days at the barn, storms are bound to pop up.
Wilted
Last weeks zinnias
Dry and wilted in their vase
Still hold their beauty.
Cool Rest
Cloudy and slept late
Light in my window is cool
Rose bed is weeded.
