To swim, poetic
Pause to take a deep breath, stroke
Rhythm, flow, water.
Art Prescription: Was thinking today as I was swimming how poetry and swimming are similar. There is a cadence to my stroke, a rhythm as I kick my feet, a pause as I turn my head to breathe. For me this is a moving meditation. Colored pencil and pen and ink 3 x 5 index card.

Like trees we grow up
Art Prescription: Here is a total stress relieving piece. Colored pencil scribbled on a 3 x 5 index card. It’s really all about the process, not the end picture. Ahhhh….feel better now.

Rays of silk, golden, yellow

Art Prescription: My hubby brought me flowers. It still thrills me! As I arranged these sunflowers, I knew I had to capture them in paint. Did a loose watercolor today…will see if it’s done tomorrow, or if I want to detail.

Art Prescription: Life is a series of milestones…pregnant, new baby, preschool, kindergarden, high school graduation, college graduation, engagement, marriage….Celebrate!

Art Prescription: Vogue, strike a pose! Or put on your shorts and pull weeds! Ha!

Art Prescription: I spent the whole day field sketching! Started at the NC Botanical Gardens and then to Blue Skies Farm in the afternoon. Bliss!
The thrill of the ride

Art Prescription: After practicing my posting trot on my bike, no less, I got to put homework into action today on Pinto Bean. Still a little rough around the edges, but I’m making progress. We ended our session with a canter and Pinto proved to have a sweet and gentle pace.
Before we ride it’s fun and interesting to look at herd behavior. Never a dull moment, here is Iloa dunking her whole head into the water. Horse-play. Charlie is looking at her with curiousity. “What on earth are you doing?”

Art Prescription: I rode Doc today at Women’s Intuitive Riding at Blue Skies http://www.blueskiesmapleview.us. Looking down at his beautiful profile and soft ears, I couldn’t help but think of what a spectacular view this is!
