Certain change in light
Early eve hum of crickets
Is almost August.
Art Prescription: Junk mail journal page!
Life can be fragile
Take care my good friend, find peace
Live each day with love.
Art Prescription: Some very good friends of ours lost their house to a fire last night. My usual attempt at making the Art Prescription a positive place, I hang my head in sorrow for them. Go now and kiss your mate…love on your pet…be thankful for everything you can touch.
Studio feline
Marks me as his while I paint
Stretches on wool rug.
Art Prescription: My black house cat Matisse meows from sun-up to sun-down. High maintenance, but I love him dearly. This afternoon I took him with me out to my studio. He didn’t say a word!! Meandered around, slinking by my ankles and stretching out on my rug. I think he knew he was in sacred space. (and had me all to himself, spoiled) A follower of mine introduced me to index card art… thanks http://girlunwinding.wordpress.com/
Long trails of students
File together through campus
Tour of their future.
Art Prescription: Since my RN job is part of UNC, I’m around students every day. They are young and eager and have the world in front of them. Today while waiting for my bus home a large group passed by. I couldn’t help but look at them with a sense of envy and relief!! Can you imagine being a freshman again? Can you imagine being a freshman again!!
The bloom, in her prime
Stood out as a tall beauty
Delicate petals.
Art Prescription: I find enormous pleasure watching the life cycle of flowers. It’s a build up of anticipation waiting for the bloom! Then bees and butterflies, in love with color, greedily ascend. As the flower begins to fade, the delicate structure remains beautiful.
