I’ve been working on an Art Prescription Kit, a combination of what inspires me. Here is a mock up! I’ve made this available in my Etsy shop. My goal is to build on this to encourage people to take advantage of the wellness factor of creativity!!

Art Prescription: Sewing…it cannot be done in a rush. Like most things haste leads to more frustrating road blocks. The student is listening, but still trying to rush…argh.

Art Prescription: Today I honor the Sea Turtle.
Sea turtles are one of the Earth’s most ancient creatures. The seven species that can be found today have been around for 110 million years, since the time of the dinosaurs.
Sea turtles spend most of their lives in the water. Like salmon, they will return to the same nesting grounds at which they were born. When females come to the shore they dig out a nest in the ground with their back flippers, bury their clutch of eggs and return to the ocean. After hatching, the young may take as long as a week to dig themselves out of the nest. They emerge at night, move toward the ocean and remain there, solitary, until it is time to mate.

After summer rain
Air fresh, scent of moist, rich earth
Droplets on petals.
Art Prescription: Set out for my evening walk with thunder in the far background. Next thing I know the wind kicks up and big drops begin to fall. I arrived home soaked…and happy for my garden!
