Each piece of pine straw
Or lichen, twigs, spider’s silk
Laid with high design
Art Prescription: Bird’s nests are architecturally a wonder!
My walks sustain me.
And also my art. My Stitch Kits are designed to give peace.

New design:

Don’t take personal
Words or actions from others
It’s their perspective.
Art Prescription: So often we allow the words of others bother us. Usually it’s all about them…
Fabric collage with quote and improv stitching:

None of us know now
What life is going to be
Wading through water.
Art Prescription: So we go about our days staying afloat.
Fabric collage on vintage wallpaper:

Time to perculate
Bring the gerbil in to home
Off the running wheel!
Art Prescription: Having extra time to work on some ideas has been nice.
I’m hoping to soon list an embroidery kit in my Etsy shop.

From red kayak bow
The lake stretches out deep blue
Big clouds float above.
Art Prescription: Just me and my first mate went “boating” today…kayaking. It was so fun and beautiful and peaceful. Nothing but us, blue skies, and a lake that went on forever. Bliss!
Index card with watercolor:

Fast furious swoop
A near miss, the dove chortles
Hungry red-eyed hawk.
Art Prescription: I was sitting outside when I heard a sudden ruffle of wings. A hawk swooped in after a morning dove in the trees. Lucky for the dove, the hawk went hungry. The yin and yang of nature.
Nature Collection

Winter can feel like
Time underwater, spring is
Coming up for air.
Art Prescription: Hard to go inside these days…I’ve got a pair of blue birds checking out the bird house right outside my studio window. How delightful if they take up residence and I can watch them raise a brood!
Watercolor on Yupo (first time on Yupo and I’m not sure what I’m doing)

Freshly cut flowers
Seems trees have changed overnight
Mason Jar posy.
Art Prescription: We are so lucky here in North Carolina that flowers continue to bloom on through October. We haven’t had that first cold frost yet. So I happily plucked a Mason Jar full of flowers and set about to watercolor them. Makes me about as happy as anything…
