Hello friends and fellow bloggers,
I have a special treat for you today! I’ve been working with a group of young environmentalists to bring to life a body of kid’s art. Last summer these NC Kids painted their favorite NC threatened bird with my coaching.
Announcing The Threatened Bird Project Note Cards!! My company has produced this charming set of 12 note cards, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to our local Audubon chapter. http://www.newhopeaudubon.org
Please visit my Etsy shop to make your purchase to support the birds!

Perches to look down
Sees her world from a new branch
Different viewpoint.
Art Prescription: Never hurts to look at things from a new perspective.

Amazing color.
Art Prescription: Because no two days are alike…and why would you want to wait anyways to show your best, your truth, your individuality. It’s a fast ride, so fasten your seatbelt and feel everything.
Watercolor 8 1/2 x 11
Layers of feathers
A silent flight through the woods
The noble Barn Owl.
Art Prescription: Did you know this beautiful creature is endangered?
Index card with colored pencil:
The box is singing
Fledglings are making some noise
Do the parents sleep?
Art Prescription: Mother Nature’s tenacity is amazing. Every minute or so I see one of the chickadee parents leave the box to go grocery shopping. The box gets quiet. And as soon as one of the parents flies in, there is a lot of sweet high-note chirping going on.
Index card with colored pencil:
Blue grey gnat catchers
A pair building their sweet nest
Made from green lichens.
Art Prescription: Found a couple of these pairs working today at Mason Farm.
Colored pencil:
A blue bird of hope
Lives within the open heart
Ready to take flight.
Art Prescription: My chop says, “hope,” or “rare expectation” in Chinese.
