Saddle up cowgirl
Hit the trail with wonder, awe
My steed carries me.

Saddle up cowgirl
Hit the trail with wonder, awe
My steed carries me.

Sign on door says “closed”
Pool chairs held wet suits, laughter
Now gather fall leaves.

At my side, cuddle
Tangle of black fur, pink nose
Sleeps with me all night.

A solo song starts
August and her big choir
Crickets sit in awe.

A four leaf clover
Fell from the page of my book
Timely sign of hope.

I fought bed all night
Then crickets sang the sun up
And birds took over.

Country life sets well
Gives me time and space to breathe
While horses nicker.

Rainy Sunday nap
Chihuahua snores between us
Cat purrs at my side.

Around the pond ducks
Set up their nest in tall grass
Green heron returns

Laden with spring buds
Bare trees glow with fresh new growth
Color dots woodlands.
