July Daydream

Time for hat, mittens

Air crisp and cool, record scratch!!!

Shorts, sunscreen, and sweat!

Art Prescription: I can always put on more clothes, but to get away from July heat requires air condition!

This little bird hopped into my daydream today:

Christmas in July

In Victorian times women began their Christmas arts and crafts in July.

Seems cooling to paint a snow scene when the heat index is 110 degrees!!

Thank goodness my studio has air con. How did they do it in their hoop skirts and corsets and no air conditioning? No wonder the vapors happened so often!

Christmas Cow in acrylic, ( need to add shadows).

July

July heat beats down

Took an early morning ride

Cool spray for my Finn.

Art Prescription: I got to the barn about 8:30. The heat magnified by the hour.

Finn got a cool spray off from hose. Oh that felt so good!

Bought a set of oil pastels at the Scrap Exchange. Played with some sketching..,

July

Early morning crow

Announcing heat of the day

Sweat rolls down my cheek.

Art Prescription: I love being outside, and in July it’s harsh. The sun beats down on you, heat rises off of pavement, trees wilt, leaves curl, all thirsty for rain.

The Diva Chronicles

Hi folks,

It’s been a while since I caught you up. I’m doing great!

I got to go to the beach and run around with the seagulls:

That was fun, but going to the farm and rolling in horse poop still tops the beach! Course, I always have to get a bath after:

Me and Matisse continue to bond: (are you serious?):

My athletic prowess is increasing everyday:

Take your time

Slow and steady now

Dragonflies dip down and swoon

It is so July.

Art Prescription: And July means hot. Heated tempers, sweating to no end, everyone is on edge.

How to stay clear of everyone’s frustrations? art!

Started this in my backyard:

Work in Progress

At the beach I love walking down side streets to look at architecture and gardening. You can tell the difference in a house lived in versus a rental property. It’s like someone is home.

I started another coastal painting…
