So Zeta made her way across North Carolina. Our freshly raked yard is a mess of leaves and pine needles.
Too windy for a safe horse ride, so we did horse anatomy with oil pastels.

I’m working bit by bit on this historic log cabin. Lots of feeling and details that I hope to capture.

Beautiful day to have my studio door open to listen to birdsong.
I started with a couple of pen and ink drawings from picked wildflowers.

Next I added a watercolor wash with yellows and blues around the flowers. Negative painting.

Art Prescription: I love when I feel visited by Mother Nature. Today on my walk I spent some time visiting with a hawk.
I think a Red-shouldered Hawk.

Art Prescription: We set out this morning on a day hike. Just a 50 minute drive outside of Chapel Hill and you land in Alamance County, Saxipahaw, and great hiking!
Yes, we did pass the brewery going and coming home. Next time maybe we will have a cold brew!
This park appeals to a lot of people: hikers, disc golf enthusiast, historians, and equestrians.
We stopped to rest at the damn. Diva got to stretch and I got to sketch.
