Cool, moist, after rain
Swollen creeks babble and flow.
Fog sits low on trees.
Art Prescription: Lot of spring rain for flower power!!

Haiku February 25, 2013 Watercolor Pencils
Colored sketchbook fun
Watercolor pencils, draw
Then paint with water!!
Art Prescription: Watercolor pencils are a great tool for sketch-booking outside. Simply take your pencils and sketchbook, draw and color en plein air. Then back in the studio add water for a surprise mixing of color. Sketchbook graffiti!
Haiku February 24, 2013 Bright Moon
February moon
Cast shadows on grassy field
Stars appear, twinkle!
Art Prescription: An evening moon-lit walk is delectable!
Haiku February 23, 2013 Hummingbirds
Small and lite they glide
Through the air on wings as small
As acorns, hummers!
Art Prescription: I went to a nature journaling workshop today and one of the exercises was to write about hummingbirds. Fun to learn some new techniques for nature journaling.
Haiku February 22, 2013 Spring Fever
Winter’s hand plays deal
Cold spreads, coat and hat required
Spring at finger-tips!
Art Prescription: Although my walk today was in a wintery mist, I know spring is coming! The signs of spring lift my spirits.
Haiku February 21, 2013 Home Sweet Home
Wheels drop, plane descends
Like cows going to the barn
We all rush for home!
Art Prescription: “Parting is such sweet sorrow.” Nice to visit! Rich to be home! A sketchbook is the perfect remedy for a delayed flight…

Haiku February 18, 2013 Travel
Where ever you go
There you most certainly are
Key is to fit in.
Art Prescription: I guess the theme this week is uniqueness. A key to life, however, seems to be to be able to fit in where you are. To blend, be a good listener, and hope people around you feel heard, acknowledged, and at ease.
Haiku February 17, 2013 Introvert
Alone, not lonely
Quiet time spent with my own
Imagination.
Art Prescription: There are those of us who love a party, lots of people, loud music, a hoping good time. And there are those of us who love quiet walks in the woods, lots of birds, sounds of nature, and creative solitude. No judgement here. Just be who you are and hope the world will honor that!
