Bold little faces
Brave the cold to add color
To winter gardens!
Art Prescription: When the garden is covered in dried leaves and skeletons of last summer’s flowers, the bold color and determination of pansies, also known as violas, brighten my day. As I turn the curve to walk to my studio I’m met with tricolor faces reaching for the winter sun.
Bramble, straw grasses
Frame the stark woods, winter gold
Pod menagerie.
Art Prescription: Walked Mason Farm this morning and put out a Haiku-O-Gram (anonymous art with haiku meant to brighten someone’s day). The winter landscape is stirring…browns, reds, and golden rods of many different kinds of grasses. Detailed seed pods sprinkle the meadow.
Luminary night
Silent streets lined with candles
Holiday season!
Art Prescription: Our neighborhood does an annual luminary night. A chance for everyone to celebrate their holiday of choice, and come together as one to light the streets with candles. It’s serenely beautiful!
Fire in the sky
Panoramic scarlet glow
Drama chases sun!
Art Prescription: Always pause for beauty! In the midst of setting up for my Open Studio, which is tomorrow! I noticed the back-glow of the sunset. I went around the house to watch the show! Gasp! Even caught a few geese going by.
Winter frost glistens
Shiny silver frozen dew
A white coverlet!
Art Prescription: Heavy freeze overnight. The lawn almost looked like snow, so thick with frost. Yep, it’s winter. What attracts your muse in the winter? Share with us!
Winter shadows dance
Cool silhouettes under sky
Periwinkle blue.
Art Prescription: Warm color, cool color…Winter shadows are definitely cool. Switch it up on life’s canvas for a winter mood!
A warm cozy couch
Sandwiched between two kitties
Remedies grey day!
Art Prescription: On a grey, cold, rainy day it’s simple human nature to nap! If you have pets, then you know as soon as you hit supine you will have company. I sometimes have wonderful ideas while my body rests, and my mind wanders!
Round, pale-yellow moon
Rises over winter trees
Sunset cast pink hue!
Art Prescription: Evening and morning light is phenomenal. Tonight’s moon began rotation as the sun set, casting a pink horizon behind a winter landscape.
Beneath the leaf quilt
Wildflowers wait patiently
While winter performs!
Art Prescription: Even though the woods seem very quiet now, how nice, there is always a lot going on underneath the surface. Don’t let the cold keep you indoors. Put on a scarf, big coat, and mittens, and go out into nature! A red cardinal sitting on a winter branch is stunning!
Dinner with good friends
Table is set, wine open,
Kitchen warm with love!
Art Prescription: I like to cook!
