Art Prescription: Blackie the stray cat is still around. He seems content to eat at my neighbors and rest under porches in the shade. He is still very timid. We are trying to see what we need to do to help him. He may actually be living the life of grandeur, free to roam, basking in the sun or shade, scratching real trees, chasing bugs…
You were born with wings

Art Prescription: It is really all about the here and now. It takes mental homework to remind myself of this daily. Not to get caught up in the past or future. Might be time for some 3 x 5 notecards placed on my mirror.

Art Prescription: Six a.m. dog walking for my neighbors has benefits. It’s nice and cool, the birds are waking up with song, and there’s a game going on at the pond. Here is Duffy after a hot late day walk.

After morning ride
She gets a spray, cool water
Returns to the hay.
Art Prescription: Rode Miss Lacey this morning. Went early to beat the heat. I love spraying her down with cool water, washing the saddle-marked sweat from her white body. She enjoys it too! I return her to the paddock where fresh hay awaits. A grazing horse…Zen.

A long walk on the hot sand

Art Prescription: I’m off from my nursing job, and dreaming of vacation. Long beach walks, sea gulls laughing, salty breeze, palm trees rattling in the wind, and sunsets over the sea.
Bounce, jump, side-ways, purr
Run full speed for ten minutes
Then collapse asleep.
Art Prescription: Went to draw with a friend of mine who is hand-bottle feeding orphaned cats. Hard to draw a thing in constant motion…till it sleeps. Art journal page…Deep bow to my friend!!
