Art Prescription: The circle of life is so apparent at family gatherings. People change, children grow up and start having kids of their own, sons attempt to make their mother’s chocolate chiffon pie, and new additions add playfulness and future. I am grateful!!
November’s deep chill
Final call for red roses
Frozen in the bud.
Art Prescription: As I painted this I thought of the song from Journey, “Don’t stop believing.” Roses continue to bloom until they are literally frozen still. Nature’s will is awe inspiring and each of us should never “stop believing” in ourselves and the joy of daily living. The holidays are upon us…pace yourself, wink!! Thanks to each of you. I’m about to finish my second full year of writing a haiku a day and it has been amazing!

Art Prescription: As the holidays approach many people will be leaving home and traveling. For most there are elements of excitement combined with busy days and family dynamics. Take a few minutes each day to get quiet, put your legs up a wall, or shop till you drop if that’s what you like!! Either way, enjoy!

Art Prescription: Since I work at a hospital that is part of a college campus, I often see vignettes of college life!
Cold, grey, wintry sky
Blooms alive in my mind’s eye
Imagination!
Art Prescription: Although I do love the fall scenery, and bright reds, golds, and oranges…a blossom here and there does me good.
A twister of leaves
Swirls up the street, red and gold
Comes to rest on curb.
Art Prescription: The wind does a dance with leaves.
Woman, women, girls
The beauty is in your heart
Now, place hand to chest.
Art Prescription: As I stand in line at the grocery check out I think those glossy pictures are pretty, but they are not real!! I know beauty is in my heart!! and yours too! ( guys, I owe you one 🙂 )
