Many leaves for UNC Hospital Trees. Mulberry paper and pretty cardstock.

I’ve been working with UNC Hospitals for years creating Remembrance Trees.
I’m so honored these trees are used in a process for healing as participants write on leaves which are glued to the tree.

I’ve created Four new trees during this covid pandemic.
Fashion and beauty
Your external expression
Does not define you.
Art Prescription: Long, lived day. Woke early, coffee (Facebook, yep), walk, swim, read, and then went to Scrap Exchange. This place is plundering heaven…junk galore…paper extravagansa.
Great finds for art journaling! I bought a $3.00 bag of mixed papers and found lots of vintage patterns.
After morning ride
She gets a spray, cool water
Returns to the hay.
Art Prescription: Rode Miss Lacey this morning. Went early to beat the heat. I love spraying her down with cool water, washing the saddle-marked sweat from her white body. She enjoys it too! I return her to the paddock where fresh hay awaits. A grazing horse…Zen.
Two worlds, artist, nurse
Some days my hat does not fit
Either, want to rest!
Art Prescription: I’ve been weaving my two worlds of nursing and art together for about 10 years…maybe 11…or all my life…which came first? I love both in many ways. Often it’s the transition that is hardest. What hats do you wear? Which hat fits you best? Fits your spirit?
Laundry flaps in wind
Mares graze, tall grass, buttercups
Afternoon at farm.
Art Prescription: I sit and watch…observe their ears, their eyes, their tales as they swish at flies. They know I’m there. One of the most joyful things about sketching is simply the art of observation. I notice the sights, sounds, and smells of my surroundings. I get still and take it all in.
