Tiny elephant
Trying to claim your own space
Allow me to be.
Art Prescription: Have you heard of the white elephant in the room? Well what if we all respected each other’s space a bit more?
8 x 8 watercolor on watercolor paper:
Birds of a feather
Flock together, so they say
Know where you belong.
Art Prescription: Remember the clicks in high-school where you were struggling to fit in? As adults, I think we struggle with this issue. Life is like a river, constantly moving and changing, going with the flow. Birds seem better than us at knowing who they want to fly with. For them it’s simple. It’s mutual support.
Colored pencil and pen and ink on index card:
She knows her domain
Is at one with elements
Shows you who she is.
Art Prescription: A friend of mine recently reminded me, “If people show you who they are, believe them.” Once again I’m drawn to the deeper consciousness that is our animal world. Always asking what can we learn?
This is my second sea turtle. The first one I did with alcohol inks which was fun and bright and bold. This one is softer, done with watercolor. 8 1/2 x 11 watercolor
A world of beauty
Yet each sunflower is fine
And perfectly blooms.
Art Prescription: Why do we humans have such a hard time blooming…recognizing our beautiful parts and strengths and individual differences? Can we take a lesson from the garden where each bloom just reaches for the sun? Cause it’s a short journey this one livid life. So my friends go out there and bloom!!
Alcohol ink and pen:
Rain on a tin roof
Makes a barn nice and cozy
Horses get more hay.
Art Prescription: So I was out caring for Finn while two classes of 8 to 10 year old girls came to the farm for lessons. A steady rain meant no riding, but there is so much more to learn at the barn about caring for horses. It’s getting cool tonight so the girls helped put out extra hay for all.
