Rainy Days March 19, 2015

Rain on a tin roof

Makes a barn nice and cozy

Horses get more hay.

Art Prescription:  So I was out caring for Finn while two classes of 8 to 10 year old girls came to the farm for lessons. A steady rain meant no riding, but there is so much more to learn at the barn about caring for horses. It’s getting cool tonight so the girls helped put out extra hay for all.

Horses Know March 11, 2015

Sugar, spice, and sass

Sweet little mare with long bangs

Knew what I needed.

Art Prescription:  I rode Shelly today. After feeding over the winter I was intrigued by this spirited mare. She would always come to greet me at the gate. Finn is healing and getting some time off. I really enjoyed Shelly’s energy today…just what I needed.

Delayed Dreams February 25, 2015

Time specializes

In alterations of dreams

It is not too late.

Art Prescription:  As I went about helping to prepare the farm for a winter storm, I had a thought of wishing this love had of occurred earlier in my life. Then I realized it’s just PERFECT.

Farm Chores February 22, 2015

Hair salted with hay

Muddy hand-prints adorn pants

Makings of happy!

Art Prescription:  I love being out at the farm in the morning with the horses. They greet me close to the gait waiting for their breakfast. Fresh hay is very exciting. The cardinals are singing and the clouds break into sunshine.
