Window to the soul
A place you gaze when in love
Where you find the truth.
Art Prescription: I did this sketch one night in bed. Added colored pencil just now.
Index card with pen and ink and colored pencil:

Index card with pen and ink and colored pencil:

Clouds like wet cotton
Hang over grey winter sky
It threatens to rain.
Art Prescription: Playing around with all sorts of things!!
Watercolor, acrylic, alcohol ink, collage 8 x 8:

Sketching in the bed
My pen trails off into sleep
Next day, add color.
Art Prescription: I did this pen and ink sketch last night in a sleepy state. Today I went back in and added colored pencil. Some folks read to sleep…I draw!

Alone in the field
I feel small and listen for
Wisdom of horses.
Art Prescription: “Take it to the horses,” she said. Take it to the horses, and take a shower, and then think about life. Thank you Deborah!
I spent a couple of hours sketching en plein air today. Ink on index cards:

Just off the trailer
He takes a breath, and decides
The grass is green here.
Art Prescription: A new horse arrived at the farm today…Space…a registered Paint. Cool as a cucumber, he gets off the trailer and proceeds to enter his new home with enthusiasm. Just amazing these creatures who live totally in the moment.
Index card sketch:

These spirits in fur
Draw us to their mystery
Hold us on their backs.
Art Prescription: Amazing ride this morning.
8 1/2 x 11 watercolor

My reflection in
Your deep soulful eyes, I am
A work in progress.
Art Prescription: Time with my horse today. I could disappear in his eyes…so deep and full of meaning.
Started this Cyclamen sketch. Stay tuned for color…

Like spaghetti strands
Horses eat steady supply
Of hay to keep warm.
Art Prescription: My horse is so well cared for during these cold winter nights. He gets lots of hay to keep his metabolism going, which is how horses stay warm. Night, night, Finn…
Watercolor 8 x 8:

Out of the purple
A field of wild irises
She ran with the wind.
Art Prescription: Sometimes you just have to go with it…
Watercolor:

She moved me, the wind
And I listened deeply to
What she had to say.
Art Prescription: I went to an animal communication workshop today at the farm where my horse Finn lives. It was intense and beautiful. I was overwhelmed with some emotions that came up, and I’m sure I will need to process my “conversations” more in the days to come. The horses were amazing and accepting and willing…wow!
