Art Prescription: I sit and watch…observe their ears, their eyes, their tales as they swish at flies. They know I’m there. One of the most joyful things about sketching is simply the art of observation. I notice the sights, sounds, and smells of my surroundings. I get still and take it all in.
Packaging new cards

Art Prescription: A great example of why I love working from home! Hot off presses, my newest note card collection, Blue Skies of Mapleview Collection, a set of art cards featuring horses. While packaging in my warehouse (dining room table), I noticed a pair of morning doves building a nest. Back and forth they went while I folded, counted, and packaged cards. I picked up my binoculars to check them out a little closer. How lovely.
Two new mares arrive

Art Prescription: Fascinating day at the farm. Two new mares are coming to visit Blue Skies of Mapleview. So some mixing up of the paddocks was involved. The home-horses were all a bit like, what? new? where is she going? And the two new mares were like, this place has exquisite hay, and we like all the attention, which we will ignore because, well we are new. The boys suffered a bit…Girl Power!!!

Art Prescription: Trying to make some big decisions, I went to the farm to seek divine guidance. A farm is a good place to do some soul searching.

Art Prescription: To watch a young lady ride bareback with complete composure is a joy. She makes it look so simple. Truth is she is in awe of this horse and with mad skills the horse knows. So impressive. Beautiful.
Where the sky is wide

That’s where horses run.

Art Prescription: First thing this morning we walk out to see the horses. On the way I notice about 6 different merry wildflowers!

Fill contented nose.
Art Prescription: Pinto gets a snack after a cold morning ride. He was such a good boy today. Everything about being on this farm with fresh air and horses feeds my senses.
