Quick grits are ready!
Art Prescription: And let’s remember each small thing. Lucky to have hot grits with butter, even if I did eat them standing up between patients. A bite here, ooh that’s hot, a bite there, more butter? What do elephants and grits have to do with one another? Hot grits…cute critter with flowers…TGIF y’all!

Sharp, bright, fall sunlight
Euphonious, crickets hum
Musical meadow.
Art Prescription: The sun is sharp these days. Once up, she burns off frosted windshields…moves on to de-thaw grass. And still the crickets hum softly in the meadow.

Hey y’all my Art Prescription Deck: A Dose of Coloring Inspiration is available in my Etsy shop!!
On the other side
Of the pasture, the sun sets
Cool mist over ground.
Art Prescription: I went out to the farm to meet the farrier so Finn could get his “pedicure.” After two busy RN days, a chance to slow down and enjoy the horses was a welcome situation. I stayed until the sun began to sink on the horizon. Gazing out on a field of happily grazing horses is peace for my soul, beauty for my eyes, quiet for my ears, and love for my heart.
Watercolor 5 x 7
The woods are quiet
My bike wheels spin on the trail
Flowers go to seed.
Art Prescription: Sam and I went to Tobacco Trail today. We drove out across Jordan Lake to the portion of the trail that crosses the wetlands of the lake. We saw four different kinds of woodpeckers. They have a primo opportunity in that habitat with all the stags. I’m coloring my Art Prescription Deck to make thumbnails for final production. This is the fun part!
Each 5 x 7 card in the deck will be printed on Bristol Vellum – an artist grade paper! The botanical names will be listed and the family.
Blackberry Lily – Belamcancia chinensis – Iris Family
Persian Speedwell – Veronica persica – Figwort Family
Sweet gums are the first
Splashes of yellow appear
Leaves begin to change.
Art Prescription: Driving home from the farm today I began to notice a few patches of yellow here and there. In our yard it is the sweet gum trees that are the first to start changing color and dropping their leaves. The cooler mornings are a sure sign that fall is here.
