Two shiny black crows
Velvet against deep, hard frost
Scratch steel blades of grass.
Art Prescription: Crunch goes the ground.
Slow down wild woman
No fire to put out but you
Breathe, stretch, breath again.
Art Prescription: Okay, the holidays are shifting into high gear, and we still have work to do, a house to clean, laundry, yards, decorations, and oh yea gifts!!!(steam coming from ears) Now…breathe. Put your legs up a wall for ten minutes. Be grateful, and resume full speed ahead.
Day with family
Old traditions, new babies
Some of them furry!
Art Prescription: The circle of life is so apparent at family gatherings. People change, children grow up and start having kids of their own, sons attempt to make their mother’s chocolate chiffon pie, and new additions add playfulness and future. I am grateful!!
November’s deep chill
Final call for red roses
Frozen in the bud.
Art Prescription: As I painted this I thought of the song from Journey, “Don’t stop believing.” Roses continue to bloom until they are literally frozen still. Nature’s will is awe inspiring and each of us should never “stop believing” in ourselves and the joy of daily living. The holidays are upon us…pace yourself, wink!! Thanks to each of you. I’m about to finish my second full year of writing a haiku a day and it has been amazing!
