Look for the lost one
Give heart and spirit at times
Find your way back home.
Art Prescription: We all get lost…hopefully we have the help and graciousness of others to help find our way home. One small kind deed goes a long ways.
Mysterious time
Too much time, too many thoughts
Not enough, stressful.
Art Prescription: Everyone has experienced times in life where the clock seems to stretch out for hours. And other days time is gone in minutes. Time is a human encounter. It’s as much about physical as psychological. How you spend your thoughts often manifest in how you spend your day. If thoughts were money, how would you spend them. Would you buy something positive? Or allow your money to go down a drain? Every morning, regardless of how sleepy and “tired” you feel, you need to tell yourself: This is going to be a GREAT DAY! Now make it happen!
An entrepreneur
Launches with the heart, takes risks
Builds success in life!!
Art Prescription: Creativity means doing, managing, producing, promoting, and building the business you see in your mind. It’s persistence, stubbornness, tiredness, joyfulness, sleeplessness…what other ness comes to mind. The support of your spouse, family, and friends means the world…they believe in you! Do you believe in yourself?
I’m cosmocentric
Seeking joy in the moment
Enlightened by now.
Art Prescription: Full day switching hats, nurse, artist, cat-mom, card-packaging-staff. Getting off some orders for stationery. When days are so busy it’s easy to get caught in the just-get-it-done attitude, versus the look-at-the-beauty-all-around attitude. We only have the now, seek the joy!
It never ceases to amaze me what happens when you get a group of people together to create art. I lead an Art Prescription event today at the UNC Wellness Center in Chapel Hill, NC. My goal is always to give lots of painting time, along with some facts and inspiration about how and why art benefits our health.
Today’s group jumped right in! It seemed a muse was unleashed in the room! They painted like crazy filling multiple sheets with expressive and colorful creations. There was laughter and sharing and for me the joy of seeing folks having fun while doing magic for their mental and physical well-being.
Thanks to all who came!
Adieu, cheerio
Bye-bye, good-bye, fare you well.
Every language knows.
Art Prescription: Loss knows no boundaries. In every culture around the world there are terms for saying good-by to friends and family. My good-good neighbors are moving…I will miss them! Writing my haiku’s are helping me express my feelings.
