Wildflowers galore

Wind-flower, Violets, Phlox,

White butterflies flash.

Art Prescription: We rode bikes over to the North Carolina Botanical Gardens. What a joy to have this in “our backyard.” The wildflowers carpet the floor of the garden. There is something to see in every square inch of the ground. You must go visit the woods near a stream to see what lies beneath your feet!

Blue winged gem perches

Brilliant against brown-grey

About to burst woods.

Art Prescription: Walked at Mason Farm this afternoon. The ground is covered with wildflowers, and the trees with song birds. The Eastern Bluebird stands out like a jewel against a late winter back-drop. Their color is spectacular. Try and mix it on your palette.

Snow melts on the ridge

Flows into a nearby stream

Sum part of the whole.

Art Prescription: Spring is about renewal. One element changing into another, each just as important.  Do you find yourself judging? Weighing what’s really important in your life? Get peaceful with art, yoga, or meditation and you will know.

A bee buzzed my head

Surely she did not fancy

Me a sweet flower!

Art Prescription: Okay so lately I’ve been a bit of a bear. End of winter, lacking sunshine, too many life changes… Well it happens. That’s when you need to sing the blues. Meet yourself where you are right now and find a way to express it.

Riotous flowers

Think poppy, peoni, rose

Timeless, ageless, bold!

Art Prescription: Walked Old Mason Farm today. Saw Spring Beauty and Violas, dainty wildflowers asking to be noticed. I like to go back and forth between dainty and bold. Always notice and try something new…

Quiet, silence, calm

Hushed, untroubled, balanced soul.

Homely, plain, simple.

Art Prescription: After a busy social weekend I long for solitude and uninterrupted hours to let my imagination and paint brush take over. I think we all need refuge from busy lives…I just know I need it to survive! Do you honor your need for creative dreaming?

Adieu, cheerio

Bye-bye, good-bye, fare you well.

Every language knows.

Art Prescription: Loss knows no boundaries. In every culture around the world there are terms for saying good-by to friends and family. My good-good neighbors are moving…I will miss them! Writing my haiku’s are helping me express my feelings.

Moon swells over pines

“Who cooks for you?” asks the owl.

Great tides ebb and flow.

Art Prescription: Everyday is different. No matter what your day brings, there is always peace to be found in the rhythm of the natural world. Where ever you are in the world the moon cycles and the tides change. Quietly observe and find wholeness! OR howl at the moon!
